My Impact
Overview
We designed Disney Threads, an innovative mobile app that addresses these challenges. By leveraging Augmented Reality (AR) technology, Disney Threads enables users to virtually try on a wide range of costumes, fostering a deeper emotional connection with Disney characters.
Project Timeline
We followed a structured timeline over three months, with clear milestones for each phase. From initial research and brainstorming to prototyping and final implementation, the timeline ensured smooth progress and iterative improvements based on user testing and feedback.

Room for Improvement
The design was highly intuitive and exceeded expectations, with easy navigation and familiar elements like the 'LEARN MORE' option and direct communication with the delivery person, enhancing overall user satisfaction.
Users recommended displaying step counts instead of percentages, adding a 3D simulation for enhanced engagement, and enhancing the leaderboard to show individual scores for a more engaging experience.
Reiteration 1.0
Guided by User Testing Round 1 insights, I redesigned key features to improve user engagement. These changes aim to create a more intuitive experience and enhance interaction.
After
"Fan’s Favorite" badge highlights popular content, boosting engagement and community.
After
Captions with hashtags like #DisneyThreads and #ToyStory boost discoverability and user engagement.

"I didn't got at first what this '+' button do"
Before
Manual entry for quizzes was slow and limited creativity.

After
Dropdown menu and AI icon streamline quizzes, enhance selection.
Before
Background images reduced readability, non-intuitive post cards and duplicate search buttons caused user confusion.

After
Enhanced accessibility with primary color backgrounds, added filter tabs for genres, and improved post sections for impact.
Guess what…
The users want MORE, duhh!!
After the first user testing, there was 16% improvement in the user engagement & 2/5 users were willing to come back to the application to play the polls and quizzes. But I felt like something is missing.

It would be great if I could see how I rank compared to other fans after taking a quiz.

A leaderboard would make it more fun. I’d definitely participate more if I could see where I stand.

I wish there was a way to earn something from participating in these polls and quizzes.
Now the fans will be able to see the leaderboard after finishing Quiz/Poll. They will also get rewards points after each game which they can redeem during their merch purchase.

User Engagement due to inclusion of Leaderboard and Rewards

Before
Again the less use of images in were making it unappealing to the users.

Before
User wanted to see their ranking for that particular quiz and their all time ranking.

After
Made some logical changes based on the user insights.
Final Designs
The final design leverages user insights to boost engagement and usability, incorporating dropdown menus and AI suggestions for a dynamic interaction. A new Leaderboard & Rewards system incentivizes participation with points for merchandise purchases, aligning with Disney Threads' principles to create a captivating user experience.
Reflection
Interacting directly with actual users gives great insights about the actual problem and their expectations from the app.
Establishing a continuous feedback loop with users was instrumental in refining and iterating on the app's design.
Learning to be flexible and responsive to user feedback, allowing for adjustments in the design to better meet user expectations and improve overall satisfaction.
